| JP Trip W2009: Day 6 (Birthday!) |
[23 Dec 2009|06:48am] |
Spent the day out since around 11:30am. Lunch with Mid, Ayli, and Febby in Shinjuku Station. Then went to Akiba with Ayli and Febby for some stuff... and Febby and I got the time wrong for the Nodame movie in Ikebu, so we ended up not watching it and spent time in LOFT and chilling outside the station until it was time to meet up with everyone else (Maiki, Afuji, Ku, Diane).
The Magician's Opera House was actually in a place where 4 cafes were located together. It was small, but the best part was the big chandelier and the small corridor.
After that, we all went for karaoke, and did it overnight until 5am. I don't think my throat will like me when I wake up later... ^^;
I didn't get that many pictures, so please send me the pictures!

Time to sleep because lunch with Nico at 12pm. 12/23 is the emperor's birthday, so it's a holiday. =O

I filled out the whole Year In Review meme, all the way down to the last question, but then Firefox crashed, and it erased. D:< So I will just say this: It was a pretty good year. :)
I had my last final this morning. I got a question wrong and I'm really annoyed, but what can you do.
Tomorrow evening I'm flying to California to spend the holiday with my parents. It should be lovely. I can't wait to see them and have a vacation with no impending work hanging over my head! :D
Matt and I are sleeping together again. No official statements of status until after the holidays. ^^;
That's all. My eyes hurt. Damn Firefox.

| Attention: Queer Jewish Students |
[21 Dec 2009|07:34pm] |
The National Union of Jewish LGBTQQI Students's 14th annual conference will take place January 15th to the 17th at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles. As usual the conference will be held over a weekend, and co-hosted by a campus Hillel, the NUJLS leadership conference features workshops, services, community building, and social time. This year's keynotes are Rabbi Bradley Artsen, Dean of the Ziegler School of Rabbinic Studies and comedian Dana Goldberg!
We welcome students from all sorts of backgrounds (religious, not, newly out, not, liberal to conservative, and more). Workshops, speakers, and text studies address such topics as Judaism and homosexuality, activism, relationships, ethics, coming out, and politics. Last year more than one hundred students came from across the United States and Canada to participate, and we anticipate a similar turnout this year! Registration ($80) includes meals (all kosher), housing, and all conference events. Travel and registrations subsidies are available upon request (in the registration form). View past schedules and register at http://www.nujlsonline.org/conferenceinfo.html

| JP Trip W2009: Day 5 |
[21 Dec 2009|09:17pm] |
Headed out to Ikebukuro on my own today, and hit up Animate, Mandarake, K-Books, and Tokyu Hands.
The event space on the 9th floor of Animate is currently housing Starry Sky stuff. It was kind of interesting to look at, so I took some pictures of the life-size stands. XD But I only found one of the two items that I'm looking for for kiwimangoodness, so I'll have to stop by the one in Akihabara again. Found almost no Digimon doujin in Mandarake, so I went to K-Books. They had a small section, and had them separated by doujinshika, which was helpful. (I learned that they don't allow you to write memos in the store; I was checking off the ones that I was looking for and had found.)
I spent a lot of time in Tokyu Hands. Ahhh, the nengajyou section! I also bought slippers for the apartment, so that my feet won't be as cold...
---
Tomorrow is lunch with Febby, Mid, and Ayli. Then Nodame movie #1 with at least Febby at the Shinjuku Piccadilly (same place I saw Layton movie), and then to Ikebu for dinner at the operahouse cafe. =D
Enoshima day-trip with Ayli has been moved to the 5th, so I'm going to have lunch with Nico on Wednesday in Shinjuku. And then, I also made an appointment to get a haircut at the ASH hair salon in Shibuya on Thursday. (Yay for passable Japanese... XD;)

| The Only Gods Worth Fearing |
[21 Dec 2009|02:14pm] |
Title: The Only Gods Worth Fearing Fandom: Death Note Rating: NC-17 (sex, language) Genre: sorta pwp Pairing: L/Light (genderswitch) Summary: Eve plucked the apple. Nobody need be surprised that Lucifer is a woman. L/Light femmelash. Notes: written for dreamer_067 who requested lesbian!L/Light. Happy holidays, dear. :)
( Outwardly, it would shock the world, but in their hearts no one will be surprised to find that Lucifer is a woman... )
Edit: Also, a question. I can't ever get stupid LJ-cuts to work on rich text mode. When I first made this fanfic LJ it was no problem, but for the past probably year, two years, I can never get it to work. I always have to paste it into HTML mode and do the format coding myself. It's really obnoxious.. does anyone know if I'm doing anything wrong? Thanks!

| JP Trip W2009: Day 4 |
[21 Dec 2009|12:35am] |
Went to see "Layton and the Eternal Diva" at Shinjuku Picadilly today with Yoshi. AND A PROFESSOR LAYTON SHOWED UP AND EVERYONE TOOK PICTURES. I even got a picture with him (and also took video). XD
The movie was good. I'd buy the DVD when it comes out. =D (If anyone wants the summary, someone posted it on the Layton comm here. I wrote in the comments to add/clarify things since the original poster said they didn't know too much Japanese... XD;)
After the movie, we went to a cafe for lunch, and then we went to Yoshi's grandma's house in Yokosuka. I'm pretty sure I surprised them by liking/eating konbu. XD;
---
Tomorrow's plans are to go to Ikebukuro for Animate and the doujin stores (for kiwimangoodness and lady_coche, respectively). Also going to check Tokyu Hands and LOFT for the static dissipating thing for Yoshi.
